Your car folder: profile, photos, parts, build timeline, dyno sheets, and notes. In this demo, photos and notes are saved only in this browser (localStorage). Nothing is uploaded.
Part of My Garage. Save your truck or car once, and Tow Check, Road Trip, the maintenance planner, and the parts finder fill themselves in. Saved only on this device. No account, nothing uploaded.
EXAMPLE: a made-up ride with round numbers to show how it works. The year, make, and model are real so the recall check has something to look up; the numbers are not from any real truck.
The basics
Tire pressures and towing numbers (shared with Tow Check)
Tire pressures from the sticker in your driver's door jamb. Towing numbers from the door sticker, owner's manual, and hitch labels.
VIN (optional)
Your VIN stays on this device. It is only sent anywhere if you press Fill in from my VIN, and then only to NHTSA's free vPIC decoder (a U.S. government site). Please don't post your VIN in public places like forums or social media.
Year, make, and model lists come from NHTSA's free vPIC database. If it can't be reached, just type them.
Recall check
Open safety recalls for this year, make, and model from NHTSA. For your exact vehicle, also check your VIN on NHTSA's site.
Check your owner's manual - intervals vary by vehicle and how you drive (towing = severe service). We don't fill in intervals for you. Tick what you want to track and type the miles and/or months from your manual.
EXAMPLE: the intervals below are made-up round numbers to show how the planner works. They are NOT from any owner's manual. Type yours.
Due dates by miles are estimated from your miles per month. The calendar file is made on your device; nothing is sent to us.

Hypothetical example numbers to show the layout. They aren't real results. The real product would combine real dyno results uploaded by members with the same parts (same heads, cam, turbo, and fuel), and show the spread and number of cars.

How it would work: members would get partner discount codes on parts and on shop labor. All codes below are placeholders.
Parts discount
Partner retailers would give members a % off or free shipping on the parts in your build plan.
Coming soon: build plans launch after our Cobra proof build.
Shop labor discount
Partner shops in the Find a Mechanic tab would give members a discount on labor hours for booked jobs.
Coming soon: build plans launch after our Cobra proof build.
Dyno day / tune

Affiliate links disclosure (real product): some retailer links could be affiliate links. Looking Out Co. might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Prices and the retailer you pick are always your choice, and partner status would never change a build or repair recommendation. No partner deals exist yet; the retailer links in this demo are plain links.

How to pull codes on a 1993 Fox 5.0 (EEC-IV, 2-digit codes)
Warm the engine fully, then turn it off. A/C and defrost OFF, transmission in neutral, parking brake on.
Find the self-test connector under the hood (driver side, near the shock tower). It has a single-wire STI pigtail next to the larger self-test (STO) connector.
Jumper the STI pigtail to the signal-return terminal (pin 2) of the larger connector with a paper clip or jumper wire.
KOEO: key ON, engine off. Count check-engine light flashes: e.g., 4 flashes, pause, 1 flash = 41. Each code repeats; a single flash then a pause separates current codes from memory codes.
KOER: start the engine with the jumper on. The light flashes 4 times (8-cylinder ID). Tap the brake if equipped and turn the wheel half a turn if prompted. When you see one short flash (dynamic response), briefly snap the throttle wide open once. Then count the codes.
Code 11 means pass. Remove the jumper when done. To clear memory codes, pull the jumper as soon as codes start flashing during KOEO, or disconnect the battery.
How it would work: the real product would use AI image analysis plus review by a human technician. This demo doesn't analyze anything. It shows a sample report.
1. Take these pictures
Photo tips: use daylight or a bright work light. Turn the flash off to avoid glare on metal and wet surfaces. Put a reference object (a coin, a 10mm wrench, or a tape measure) next to small parts. Wipe the area first so cracks and wet spots show. Take one wide shot, then a close-up. Engine off and cool for close-ups, unless it's the idle video.
2. Add photos and symptoms
Previews stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Demo: shows the sample report below no matter what you upload.

Vacuum leak: cracked vacuum tee near the PCV

Cracked vacuum tee near PCV visible in photo 3; lean on both banks (41 + 91) points to a shared leak
Spray carb cleaner (short bursts) at the tee with the engine idling and listen for rpm change, or do a smoke test
2
Low fuel pressure (old filter / weak pump)
20%
Both banks lean; no fuel-pressure photo provided
Gauge on the fuel-rail Schrader valve: about 39 psi with the regulator vacuum line off (stock)

Photo 4: intake boot looks dry and old
Flex the intake boot and inspect it; clean the MAF with MAF cleaner
5
Both O2 sensors failing
3%
Unlikely for both at once
Check O2 switching only after 1-4 are ruled out
Suggested fix (for cause #1)
Engine cool: replace the cracked tee and any brittle vacuum hose near the PCV.
Check the PCV valve and grommet; replace them if they're cracked or loose.
Clear codes (battery disconnected about 10 min), drive 10+ minutes to relearn, then re-run KOEO and KOER.
If 41/91 return, check fuel pressure (cause #2).
Parts (estimate $10-$40): vacuum tee / hose assortment, PCV valve and grommet. Shop at
LMR,
AmericanMuscle, or
Summit Racing.
Example only. Confidence values are made-up sample numbers to show the report format. Real diagnoses would come from AI image analysis plus a human technician's review, and they aren't a substitute for an in-person inspection.
Build video series
New Meets Old
Every build in the series is AI-planned: the AI picks and prices the parts in three tiers, Budget, Mild, and No Limit. Then we build it by hand, in the garage, with real wrenches, real receipts, and no shortcuts.
The plan. The AI lays out the parts list and prices it at all three tiers.
The build. We turn every bolt ourselves and show what fit, what didn't, and what it really cost.
The verdict. Plan vs. reality: where the AI nailed it and where the garage had other ideas.
Did the AI get it right?Watch the plan, then the real build.
